Woman, morose and contemplative, gazing anxiously through a window. She is consumed by feelings of unease, disquietude, worry, and concern. She needs John Howell to help her with therapy, psychotherapy, for her worrisome feelings.

Offering Psychotherapy for Anxiety and Depression

It has been estimated that 1 out of 10 Americans is diagnosed with depression each year. This chronic sadness has been the leading cause of disability for individuals with ages ranging from 15–44 years old. On the other hand, more Americans are also overwhelmed with anxiety and stress, which have become sources of diseases and dissatisfaction.

At John Howell, LMFT, we offer psychotherapy sessions for clients who seek to get away from anxiety brought by work demands, past trauma, and family conflicts. We also help patients who look for relief from depression related to divorce, trauma, eating disorders, addiction, and substance abuse.

Integrating Nutrition in Our Psychotherapy Sessions

If you have depression, anxiety, or other mood disorders, it’s time to resolve these conditions. In our therapy sessions, patients learn to manage their stress, feelings, and emotions. At the same time, we help them in moving through painful feelings associated with trauma, grief, and loss.

Although psychotherapy focuses on unhealthy and unproductive thoughts, emotions, and fears to make patients feel better, we believe that nutrition and comprehensive self-care should not be ignored. When the basic needs of the mind and body are not met, symptoms and problems such as anxiety, panic attacks, and depression may arise. These can lead to more emotional issues and nutritional imbalances that can further deteriorate one’s physical health.

Our therapist, John Howell, has master’s degrees in psychology and nutrition. He specializes in resolving underlying emotional and nutritional imbalances that are often associated with chronic mood disorders and cravings of addiction.

What We Do

John Howell uses functional diagnostic testing (using saliva, blood, and urine), if necessary, to provide a more comprehensive view of our clients’ problems. He then works with patients, helping them restore a sense of balance and purpose in their lives.

We use an integrative and person-centered approach in our mental health care services. Our goal is to understand and resolve repressed conditions, and not just mask or manipulate the symptoms. We promote a more enduring emotional and physical well-being using our awareness of how the mind, body, and mood are connected.
